ROTC National Platoon Leadership Award Recipient

At just 20 years old and a college freshman, Rod Kuntz earned the prestigious Platoon Leadership Award at the U.S. Army ROTC Advanced Camp—an honor awarded to only the top 1.5–2% of over 6,000 cadets nationwide. Advanced Camp is a grueling 35-day evaluation and training event designed to test and develop college junior and senior level cadets’ leadership, tactical skill, physical endurance, and ability to inspire others under pressure.

Rod’s selection was based on superior performance across multiple demanding criteria: excelling in field leadership exercises, earning the respect of peers through daily leadership and integrity, and impressing cadre evaluators with decisive thinking, confidence, and adaptability. He consistently demonstrated the competence, motivation, and character to lead by example—both in mission execution and in building trust within his platoon.

This rare honor reflects not just military aptitude but also qualities essential in business leadership: strategic thinking, team cohesion, and the ability to perform under stress. As Rod puts it, “It’s like a real-life game of Survivor—except instead of a million dollars, you walk away knowing that the right kind of leadership can change lives”

Coaching & Curriculum Development

In today’s competitive world it is imperative to master essential Soft Skills.

Emotional Intelligence (EQ):

Understanding and managing emotions, empathy, and interpersonal relationships are crucial in workplaces. It involves self-awareness, self-regulation, social skills, empathy, and motivation.

Adaptability and Resilience:

Coping with change, being adaptable, and bouncing back from setbacks are crucial skills in today’s fast-paced world. These skills often come from real-life experiences and facing challenges.

Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving:

Colleges provide a foundation, but the ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve complex problems often requires real-world application and practice.

Networking and Relationship Building:

Building professional networks, maintaining relationships, and understanding the dynamics of networking are typically learned through practical experience rather than formal education.

Time Management and Prioritization:

Juggling multiple tasks, managing time effectively, and prioritizing tasks are skills often developed through trial and error rather than formal education.

Communication Skills:

While colleges often touch on this, the nuances of effective communication, including active listening, conflict resolution, and non-verbal communication, are usually learned through practice and experience.

What You Don’t Learn in School

Many essential soft skills aren’t explicitly taught in schools or universities despite their immense importance in professional and personal life. Teaching and training in these areas is critical to remaining at the front edge of innovation and growth.

Rod assists individuals and organizations in honing these essential skills, empowering them to thrive in today’s dynamic and competitive landscape.

Rod and his partners at The Young Entrepreneur Syndicate have written and taught their curriculum on-line and in private schools, helping to shape and equip the next generation of business leaders.

A Battle Plan to Discover, Develop, and Deploy Your Super Powers

  • “I can honestly say this is one of if not THE BEST book in the “self help” category, though labeling it as solely a self help book would not do it justice. This book teaches you not only how to recognize your own significance, but also how to positively impact the world around you, no matter where you are. The author has chosen his military experience to set the theme, and from someone who has never served and knows very little about military lingo and operations, this book has drawn me in and made me feel “battle ready” for whatever comes my way. It teaches you not only how to move forward with clarity and confidence, but also about the power of humility and grace.” TAC MT

“Everyone wants to be a warrior but no one wants to do what warriors do.”
